ED RUSCHA PHOTOBOOKS
Edward Joseph Ruscha IV (b. December 16, 1937), is an American artist associated with the pop art movement. He has worked in the media of painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, and film. Originally from Oklahoma, he studied at the Chouinard Art Institute from 1956 to 1960 in Los Angeles. His work was considered part of the Pop Art movement, and gained prominence with his photographs of mundane subjects in Los Angeles such as gas stations and apartment buildings, as well as his paintings that featured isolated words or phrases.
We are pleased to offer a comprehensive selection of his seminal 70s publications on Los Angeles and Southern California’s landscapes, all vintage signed copies in pristine condition.
The featured image is a portrait of Ruscha by fellow artist and photographer Dennis Hopper. We have a beautiful platinum estate print (16 x 24 inches) available. For print details and book prices, please get in touch: info@atlasgallery.com.
