This week would have marked the opening week of the most important photographic fixture of the year – Les Rencontres D’Arles.
The Rencontres d’Arles is an annual summer photography festival founded in 1970 by the Arles photographer Lucien Clergue, the writer Michel Tournier and the historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette. The festival has an international impact, every year showing material that has never been seen by the public before and providing an intoxicating and vibrant meeting place for all photography professionals and lovers.
This year the event has been cancelled in response to the Covid crisis, so we have decided to honour it with an edition of our newsletter dedicated to the names and places that are integral to the identity of Les Rencontres.
