Paris Photo 2024
PARIS PHOTO
7-10 November, Grand Palais
Booth B03
This year at Paris Photo, we are delighted to present a solo booth show with a survey of works from the extensive career of photographic artist Richard Caldicott entitled Table of Contents, comprised of early photographs from the late 90’s, rare abstract and unique pieces from the last two decades and showcasing a brand new series of works, made in 2023 and 2024, which will be shown here for the first time.
Caldicott’s work is inextricably linked through minimal aesthetic and focus. His early images of Tupperware arrangements (featured in the Elton John Collection, currently on view at the V&A, London) and everyday Objects placed against painted backdrops are striking compositions of colour and form. A visual elegance is carried through his practice from the minimalistic unique b&w photograms to the vibrant and complex Constructions series.
We will be presenting a selection of his new large scale works, which are created by moving various artworks over the surface of a hi-res scanner as it scans. Visual images become colour saturated and painterly abstractions. Only once the digital files are uploaded and printed as rich C-type prints can one see the result. Leaving it all to chance and movement.
The chosen works presented illustrate the sustained innovation and experimentation within Richard Caldicott’s unique personal aesthetic.
