THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION IN LONDON RIGHT NOW

A new exhibition “Heroes” showcases some of the most iconic photographs of famous people from the worlds of film, politics, music, art and sport by Steve Schapiro at the Atlas Gallery in London. In the Sixties, which are often considered the “golden age of photojournalism”, Schapiro captured pivotal historical moments such as the Civil Rights Movement, then later moving on to the film industry in the Seventies where he shot outstanding photos on sets such as the Godfather (1972) and Taxi Driver (1976). The exhibition shows iconic moments from the lives of Muhammad Ali, Andy Warhol, Robert Kennedy and some previously unseen images of David Bowie, with whom Schapiro collaborated on his album artwork. Click through our gallery for an inside look of the Heroes exhibition, which is open now at the Atlas Gallery until 10 September. Story by Anna Akopyan
